Zone Zero talks about the micro-society in a squadded monastery. Gésu is organised as an experiment to create a balanced social community and to provide a home for the homeless together with those who choose for the opportunities of an alternative life in a community or a squat. Gésu, can be concidered a ‘Zone Zero’, a neutral area in nomansland, where those who fall through the mazes of the social life in Brussels end up. This microsociety contains all the conflicts and challenges of a modern European metropol.
In November 2013 at 5 ‘o clock in the morning the squat was closed down by a large police-force after a mediatization of rumors of inhuman situations, criminality and prostitution in the squat. The collective dream of Gésu has found it’s end…
